WHAT DO YOU NEED TO JOIN?
Children 12 - 18 can join the program. There are no fees associated with the program. The uniforms are free as long as the cadet remains in the program. The only responsibility to the parent and cadet is to maintain the uniform and return it when the cadet leaves the program. Go to: Parents/Sign-up for more info.
WHAT DOES IT COST TO JOIN?
“The Cadet Programme is funded by the Department of National Defence in partnership with the civilian Navy League, Army Cadet League, and Air Cadet League of Canada. The civilian sponsor requires local community support to meet its obligations that include accommodations, training aids and equipment and programme enhancements not otherwise provided. Parents and cadets are expected to participate in and contribute to fundraising as required by the League’s local sponsoring element.”
PARENTAL INVOLVEMENT
Parents can get involved in the cadet program as well. Parents become Cadet Instructors, Civilian Instructors, and Volunteers.
Parents also get involved in the Parent Sponsoring Committee raising money for the corps, recruiting new cadets and officers.
